Cooperation with museums
Reproductions and prints for cultural institutions
Gicleo is a fine art pigment printing studio in Warsaw, Hahnemühle Certified Studio Gold. For museums and cultural institutions, we create reproductions for exhibitions, display boards and accompanying materials, archival facsimiles, and editions for museum sale. We print on Hahnemühle and Canson cotton and baryta papers, with ICC profiling and color control against a master file. We work with files from digitized collections, and digitize non-scannable items in-house according to FADGI guidelines and the ISO 19264-1 standard.
What do we do for museums?
- Reproductions for exhibitions and displays
Prints from digital files, selected for the lighting and exhibition space: non-gloss cotton paper where the lack of reflections is important, baryta where the depth of black and tonality of the photograph are important. - Facsimiles and enlargements of archive materials
Manuscripts, maps, technical drawings, photographs on glass. On paper with a texture and tone similar to the original, the reproduction replaces the object in a display case where the original cannot be displayed. - Traveling exhibitions and partnership projects
Reproduction sets of repeatable quality, ready for transport and repeated assembly without risk to the originals. - Materials accompanying exhibitions
Information boards, contextual reproductions and educational materials in the same color standard as the main reproductions. - Editions for museum sale
Numbered series with a certificate, prepared for a museum shop: from paper selection to production and packaging of the edition. - Digitalization of objects
Photographic reproduction of images, graphics and documents in the studio, with quality control according to FADGI and ISO 19264-1. More about digitization.

What does the cooperation look like?
We begin with a brief discussion about the project: where the prints will be delivered, the lighting conditions they will be viewed in, the scale of the project, and the file format. Based on this, we propose the paper, format, and finishing method, and before printing, we produce a test print for approval.
Formalities
We issue VAT invoices and accept deferred payment via bank transfer for institutional projects. We prepare quotes based on requests for proposals and market research, and fulfill orders based on purchase orders or contracts. We accept files in TIFF, JPG, and PNG formats, with embedded color profiles.
Contact
If you are planning an exhibition, accompanying project, or prints related to your collection, we will prepare a proposal tailored to the nature of your collection and the scope of your project.
